“My husband, Bill, and I moved to the Atlanta area in 1980 (we live northeast of Atlanta). We are both employed by Gwinnett County Schools at this time but when we first moved here, I worked for American Hospital Supply as Admin. Assistant to the S.E. Area Manager. I joined GCPS in 1987 as secretary in one of the Middle Schools (6-8 grades). I was promoted to the Information Management Division in 1994 as a department secretary. In 1995 I was offered the position of Help Desk Specialist (also in IMD). Since 12-1995 I have been employed by IMD and every couple of years have been able to advance to the point where I now supervise the Customer Support Center, a group of 3 applications support personnel and 5 technicians. My husband and I celebrated our 25 year wedding anniversary on June 4.”
